Even though her content is a little young for my personal tastes, I had such a proud feeling when I saw that Zoe Sugg was launching a product line, aptly named Zoella Beauty.
It launched in the UK last night (online on Feel Unique already – it seems that everything but the fragrance mist ships to SA – and in Superdrug within the next couple of days), and I was so chuffed to see that the products really seem to reflect her personality – it’s all very cute with clever names and pretty packaging – a guinea pig (she has them for pets) even features on a makeup bag.
I was surprised to see that it’s a bath & body range – I was expecting makeup. It’s small at this stage, but I suspect she’ll be expanding before silly season – I’m curious to see in which direction it goes. The pics below are all from the Zoella blog, products are priced between £5 – £10.
Zoe Sugg is not the first Youtuber/blogger to create her own line – other successful ones I know of are Real Techniques brushes by Pixiwoo (I love them, and I ordered Sam’s Picks a couple of weeks ago and I’m holding all my thumbs that it doesn’t get lost in the midst of yet another post office strike), EM Cosmetics by Michelle Phan and Tanya Burr’s line of lip gloss and nail polish. I’m sure there are more that I’m not thinking of now?
When I see lines from bloggers/Youtubers I genuinely feel proud that I also have a little toe dipped in this industry, and I hope that I’ll see something similar from a South African blogger/Youtuber in the next couple of years!
