Get the chance to experience Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair II – CLOSED

As much as I luuuurve giving (and receiving, don’t forget receiving) gifts, I seldom have giveaways because I figure whoever comes to my site does so for the content I write (and my razor sharp wit and sparkling personality, obviously).

I’m not opposed to throwing a good competition in here and there, and when the opportunity came up to give a reader a chance to experience Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair II serum for themselves I couldn’t think of any objections – besides, it’s almost silly season! I tried ANR II after always feeling a little luke warm toward the original ANR, and it converted me within days. You can read the details of my own experience as well as more details on the new ANR II here.

Entering is easy peasy – just leave a comment on this post telling me what your first or favourite Estee Lauder memory or association is.

Advanced Night Repair II

My first Lauder memory is fragrance related – it goes back to the first time I smelt pleasures on a friend somewhere in my mid teens. I thought it was the most sophisticated scent I’ll ever come across, since she was the only girl that didn’t smell of candy floss, cherries or eau de artificial vanilla. It hasn’t dated for me and I still like the scent, although I won’t wear it myself because I know too many people who do.

My favourite Estee Lauder memory is when the Estee Lauder 8 hour Skin Protectant helped restore and rejuvenate my dried, chapped lips. I was so embarrassed previously to go out because I felt that everyone was staring at me, but that was a thing of the past when I started using the 8 hour Skin Protectant 🙂

I love Estee Lauder and use their foundation and Advanced Night Repair.

I have been using advanced night repair since I was 21 – I am now 26 and have never looked back. It is my one go-to serum! I just have to stash it as my husband cannot leave it alone. The one item I do not share with him!!!

My first experience was also Pleasures. I grew up with an eight year older sister. She was and still is like my second mother. I would play with her clothes and makeup and Pleasures was her favourite perfume and my first exposure to Estee Lauder.

My Estee Lauder adventure started with buying a small bottle of White Linen about 40 years ago and ever since, I still use Estee Lauder. I upgraded to the fabulous Modern Muse. I also always make use of the special offers and stock-up on all my favorite products to die for forever: Estee Lauder!

I discovered Estee Lauder Pleasures on a visit to England many years ago. I saved up and before I returned home I bought a bottle of Pleasures. I enjoyed wearing it for a few months before it was launched in South Africa. It has remained a firm favourite of me through the years.

My first Estee Lauder memory was when my Mom gave me one of the gift sets that came with her purchase. I was 13 and thought this was the best gift ever. I used to stare at the makeup bag, sniff the mini perfume and although the lipstick was a slightly odd colour – I cherished it for years. To me is was the most luxurious, sophisticated item I had ever owned. I have always associated Estee Lauder with luxury and sophistication and always will 🙂

My first memory of Estee Lauder is also related to the Pleasures fragrance. My mom had a bottle when I was about 10 and I always used to sneak a spritz. I remember it being sweet and floral and it reminded me of daisies at the time, and made me feel happy.

My first Estee Lauder memory is of a gorgeous mauve-ish lipstick that an old family friend reserved for special occasions. She was like a gran to me and I would watch her put on the lippie and comment on how pretty the colour was. She’d dab a tiny bit of it on my lips and warn me not to tell my (strict) mom but assure me that one day I’d be able to wear all the pretty lipsticks I’d want when I grow up.

Her name was Leonie and I still think of her everytime I play with lipsticks.

One of my first riding instructors always used Estee Lauder. Every time I hear the brand’s name I can smell her fragrance.

My grandmother has always used Estee Lauder and from teeny tiny I remember all the bottles and makeup next to her bed. When I went to university and got a part-time job the first thing I bought was Advanced Night Repair! I was also so proud when I got my first gift with purchase. It included a lipstick in burnished bronze which I still use today (um, obviously not the exact same one!).

Honestly, Estee Lauder has always been out of my price bracket and as yet haven’t tried anything from them. I have heard and read so many amazing things about their ANR II. Would love to try it for myself.

My first Estee Lauder memory is walking into my granny’s bathroom when I was very young and seeing a whole range of beauty products including Estee Lauder goodies. I remember opening up each bottle, sniffing them, then putting them back on the shelve quickly before my granny walked in and caught me fiddling with her prized possessions 🙂

I remember my mom’s best friend loved Youth Dew. I still remember the bottle so well.

My mom always used Estee Lauder and I always used to make her buy products when the specials were on so I could steel all the minis from the gifts. To this day I cannot let a free Estee Lauder gift go by without taking advantage!

My first memory of Estée Lauder was paging through the magazines and seeing the advert for Cinnabar. The lady looked so fancy and everything looked so opulent.

My first Estée Lauder memory was a rather painful one unfortunately… Picture this: I’m 11 years old. My mom and I are walking around in Edgars, probably looking for some cool top for me – something that is not too koekerig, but also not too ‘out there’. I spot the Estée Lauder counter and start looking at all the shiny compacts and bottles. My mom grabs me by the ear and promptly leads me towards the children’s clothes section, whilst whispering (quite loudly) into my ear: “Mamma het nie eers geld vir daai goed vir haarself nie! Netnou breek jy iets dan moet ek ons maand se kosgeld daarvoor gebruik om te betaal!!”

No jokes, this is the truth… So from a very young age I was aware of the fact that Estée Lauder was (and still is) a luxurious brand. Fortunately I do NOT have to use our grocery money to purchase one of their products but when I do buy something from the Estée Lauder counter, I always feel a sense of accomplishment. 🙂

My first memory of Estee Lauder is the scent of White Linen. It always reminds me to this day of my mom’s best friend Lynne. She was the most vivacious, gorgeous, funny lady you could ever hope to meet. We shared a birthday and were kindred spirits. White Linen was her signature fragrance. Sadly we lost her to breast cancer when she was only 43. To this day when I smell the scent of White Linen I can still picture her, so it is a wonderful association.
