I must be the only idiot that assumed the Victoria’s Secret perfumes would all smell like candy floss. They’re just so incredibly pink and sparkly (aka everything I’m not) that I never imagined they’d be anything remotely pleasant.
Like countless times before I’m wrong. Bombshell just so happens to be Victoria’s Secret’s no 1 fragrance, and it has won a FiFi award – only the biggest thing in fragrance.
On first whiff I get citrus with a little bit of floral in the mix, and then it dries down to a sensual, slightly musky, somewhat powdery but definitely delicious scent. It’s not overwhelmingly sweet but it’s definitely the type of scent that will get noticed. Officially the notes are pineapple, strawberry, passion fruit, jasmine, peony, berries, woods and musk. And I should probably mention round about now that I really like it!
The even better news is that the first Victoria’s Secret store is opening in Menlyn tomorrow, and the second one will open in Sandton City next Friday (the 14th). The stores will stock beauty products (excited to see what they have as I’ve heard good things), fragrance, accessories, sunglasses, luggage and panties – the press release doesn’t mention any other lingerie.
I’m still waiting for the price of this set (and hopefully a couple of other prices to give you an idea), I’ll update as soon as possible. By the way – has anyone noticed rollerballs are coming back in a big way? I still prefer spritzing perfume but I’ll admit that a rollerball is a very discreet way of touching up your fragrance while you’re on the move.

I just received my pack and also assumed the fragrance would be somewhat sweet and cloying. I was sure I’d hate it (being the fragrance snob I am). All that changed after the first spritz – I actually really like it and think it’s going to do extremely well. I’d describe it as chic, pretty and very, very wearable. Beautiful pic’s, by the way. XXX
