Yay Yay! Urban Decay is coming to SA

Listen, I’ve had to sit on this info for what feels like decades and it was torture. But the embargo has been lifted and chances are good that you may have already heard yesterday that Urban Decay South Africa will be an official thing in the next few months.

To start off – I don’t have exact dates yet but it’s looking like May, and it sounds like it’s either going to be stocked in Edgars or Stuttafords. I’m guessing they’ll start with a few stores and branch out from there. I also don’t know how much of the range will be made available in South Africa and what the pricing will be like. Sorry guys – I’ll update this post as I get the info.

If you’re not familiar with the brand, Urban Decay started out as a small brand that catered for more edgy and off-beat makeup needs. Ironically they’re now most famous for their Naked line – a range of cosmetics that’s made up of skin-like complexion products and mostly neutral eye- and lip colours.

I’ve been browsing for hours now (hello 6 hour time difference) and here are a few of the Urban Decay products I’d most like to get my grubby little hands on.

All of the eyeshadows

The only Urban Decay product I own is the Naked 2 palette, and I’ve grown to love it so much. Even though the shades are neutral, they still feel special. They also blend and wear really well. So basically I want all the Naked palettes and all the single eyeshadows. Thanks.

Naked Illuminated Shimmering Powder

Look, I’ve yet to meet a shimmering powder I don’t like and judging by the sheen and shimmer in the Urban Decay eyeshadows I’m dying to see what these ones will look like.

Revolution Lipgloss

I’m not even a lipgloss fan, but the Urban Decay Revolution lipglosses look great and I’ve read and watched loads of positive feedback on them, so I’ll be more than happy to give them a go. I reckon the Double Shot Travel Size Duo is a great place to start.

Naked Skin Weightless Ultra Definition Liquid Makeup

This bad boy sounds like the dream – loads of blurring and coverage while maintaining a skin-like appearance. Please take my money.

Good Karma Optical Blurring Blush

This blush looks like the love child of my beloved Sigma F80 and the Real Techniques Buffing Brush, and I’m very much on board with that.

If you want to feast your eyes, have a bit of a browse on the UD website over here. What do you have on your wish list? Are you excited by Urban Decay South Africa’s launch or are you not bothered?

    Yessss! Opgewonde AF.

I have the Naked 3 palette, and if you have fair skin tone, it is LIFE. It is literally all you need, and I get so many compliments when I wear it. It’s bronzy, buttery, pinky goodness. The other product from them I have that’s amazing is their eye shadow primer potion. If you put that on, your shadow colour will stay intense and crease-free for the entire day.

I’m most excited for the concealer, 24/7 glide-on eye pencil, and hope the Gwen Stefani eyeshadow palette will also be launched here.

Now we just need Nars in SA and my life will be complete!

When the Naked 3 palette launched I dismissed it as too pink, but now that’s one of the things I’m most excited to try. And I’m very keen on seeing whether the Primer Potion is as good as my Smashbox eye primer.

Oh my hat Chantelle, I has an excite right now!

Can’t wait, let’s hope the dollar is kinder by the time it gets here, and we don’t have to sell a kidney to get a Naked palette!

This exchange rate is probs not going to do us any favours! I’ll start researching the going rate for kidneys on the black market.

OMG! You. Made. My. Day. *shriiieeeeeeeek* I think I’m going to die. No really, I might not make it to their launch because I am dying of excitement.

Mmmm I’m probably the only one not bothered. Okay not so much bothered now, but I’ll probably jump up and down once I see it in store.
I wish for Laura Mercier and Tarte to make appearances in SA. Once upon a shining star… 😉

Don’t even get me started on all the brands I’d like to see on our shelves 😛

I completely withdraw my comment, I didn’t know UD is cruelty free 🙂
