I’ve been a-browsing so I can do some focused shopping when I’m in Perth for a day next week. My little sis thinks I’m joking about going to Hay Street Mall dressed in gym gear and trainers but I’m totally serious – it’s all about speed and efficiency.
As I was putting together my shopping list, a little beauty wish list also started happening on the side. So please do join me and take a look at my ultimate (imaginary) shopping list. Most of these are products not available in SA, and some of them aren’t available in Australia either but hey, a girl can day dream.
One of the first things on my beauty wish list is a handful of shades from the Tom Ford Lips and Boys lipstick line. There’s a whole lot of them that don’t appeal to me (pretty much all the metallics, actually) but there are so many gorgeous shades and a Tom Ford lipstick is such an indulgent little thing. Shades I’m after are Patrick, Cary, Leonardo, Ian and Xavier. I also wouldn’t mind trying out a Tom Ford eyeshadow quad or two. I mean, have you seen the things? Honeymoon and Nude Dip would be top of my list.
Speaking of Mr Ford and the beautiful things that are created under his supervision, we obviously need to talk perfume. Black Orchid is one of the most special fragrances I own, and I also have Rive D’Ambre, which I love when I’m in the right mood. I definitely wouldn’t mind to add some more TF fragrances to my collection. Violet Blonde has always been next on my list, but I haven’t seen it on shelves in ages and it’s not on the TF website so I suspect it’s being discontinued. Other Tom Ford fragrances I wouldn’t mind trying are Neroli Portofino, Azure Lime, Costa Azzura, Mandarino di Amalfi and Velvet Orchid.
Next on my ultimate beauty wishlist are all the glowy things from Hourglass Cosmetics. The just-launched Ambient Strobe Lighting Powder is obviously my dream product – I don’t need any excuses to get a bit of highlight action on. I’d also like to try out the regular Ambient Lighting Powders as I dream of using them as all-over setting powder.
The No 28 Lip Treatment Oil sounds absolutely amazing as well, as does the Femme Nude Lip Stylos and Opaque Rouge Lipsticks.
A lot of Too Faced products don’t really appeal to me (I think it’s packaging) but a lot of them are so lustworthy I can barely handle it. I’m very keen on a couple of the Melted lipsticks, I’m probably going to buy myself the Love Flush Blush Wardrobe and I’m pretty keen on the Candlelight Glow powders and Sweetheart Blushes.
I’d buy all the things from Morphe if you let me loose there. Their 502 and 690 brush sets would be first up, followed by a bunch of taupe and neutral eyeshadow palettes.
Another big name on my beauty wish list is Tarte Cosmetics. I would gladly provide both the Tartelette and Tartelette in Bloom eyeshadow palettes with loving homes, and I’m very curious about The Sculptor Contouring Face Slenderizer – it’s a crayon-like contouring product. The Tarte Amazonian Butter Lipstick looks and sounds absolutely amazing too.
Not quite a beauty item (but seen on every damn beauty blog in the world) is a Diptyque candle or two. These are actually available from Luminance in Hyde Park but I haven’t been able to justify forking out R800+ for a candle. Top of my list is without a doubt the Baies candle. I’ve also had a small bottle of their Do Son fragrance and it was one of the most special perfumes I have ever used – I finished it within a matter of months.
What would a beauty wish list be without Nars? Nothing, I tell you. I’m very keen on their Dual Intensity Eyeshadows and naturally their blushes too. I’m also very keen on their kabuki brushes, the Sheer Glow Foundation and the Radiant Creamy Concealer.
I’m desperate to try the Origins Drink Up Intensive Overnight Mask, the Ginseng Face Mask, the Original Skin Rose Clay Mask and the Mega Mushroom range.
In an ideal world I would just want two of those massive Urban Decay vaults – one filled with Naked products and another one filled with their high intensity colour products. Fortunately UD is launching in SA in the next couple of months so I’m going to try and be patient and just wait it out. You can see my Urban Decay lust list here.
I’ve read so much about Escentric Molecule’s Molecule 1 fragrance that I’m almost too afraid to test it on myself because if I like it too much I’ll be really poor afterwards.
On the more budget-friendly front I’m really curious about the newly launched L’Oreal Lumi Magique Cushion Foundation, some more Milani blushes and a couple of eyeshadows, Chi Chi cosmetics, Sonia Kashuk eyeshadows, more Australis products (I’ve already done some damage), Nude by Nature brushes, and I’d like to have a good look at Barry M cosmetics after my first experience with them wasn’t great.
Realistically I’m aiming to get myself a little something from Origins, Nars and Too Faced when I go shopping, I’ll probably have a stroll through the drugstores and I’ll inevitably have a bit of a browse in duty free too. I’m so glad it’s time for our incentives at work…
If you had free reign and a patient credit card, which products would you aim for first?
