Soap & Glory hits and misses from my UK Boots haul

I’ve had some time to play around with the products I bought from Boots and Superdrug a couple of months ago, so I thought I’d give you a little update on the Soap & Glory products since it’s a schlep to beg your friends to lug a box of cosmetics around in their suitcases/post it to you. I’ll separately do a post on the other products bought.

If you haven’t watched the UK Boots and Superdrug haul video I did with Luzanne, you can check it out here. SO.MUCH.FUN.

I absolutely adore this. I was expecting it to be quite shimmery, but it just brightens in a formula that mattifies slightly while not feeling dry. I mostly use this under foundation, but I also dab it onto high points for a little extra light reflecting action. The only miss here is the packaging – the nozzle is too big, so it’s forever messy.

I do enjoy this blush, but it runs a little dark for my personal taste. It’s not a huge problem as I can swirl my brush into the shades I’m after, it just takes a little extra effort. The finish is gorgeous though, it really does light up my complexion.

If you’re into easy-wearing cosmetics, this one is a winner. It’s simultaneously balmy and glossy, and gives a sheer wash of juicy colour (I hate using the word juicy to describe lip colour but it’s pretty accurate in this case). Even though the payoff is sheer, it’s still pretty bright and just all-round lovely.

Soap & Glory Smoothie Star Breakfast Scrub

This scrub is my idea of perfection, since it gets so many things right. It’s very scrubby without being uncomfortable (finicky areas like my arms are a little red afterwards) and it’s moisturising without leaving a slick of grease on your skin (it emulsifies). Whether you’ll like the smell or not I won’t be able to say – it’s a very sweet maple syrup scent which reminds me of waffles. I like it once or twice a week, but I wouldn’t enjoy it in a daily wash/lotion.

Soap & Glory Rich & Foamous body wash

I didn’t dislike this wash, but it also has a pretty sweet scent (more vanilla/nutty) and I grew tired of it quickly. I roped in the man to help me finish the massive 500ml bottle and we’re almost there now after about 6 weeks. If I used it alone it would probably have lasted 3 months. It’s not super moisturising but it’s definitely not drying either. I do love the value and the pump bottle, but I’ll think twice before committing to a 500ml I’ve never smelt before!

I also bought the Whipped Clean Shower Butter which I haven’t tried yet.

I mostly like (and in some cases love) the Soap & Glory products I bought, and I’ll definitely try more products from the range next time I get an opportunity. Some S&G products are sporadically available on Rubybox, it’s worth keeping an eye on their site if you have no other way of obtaining these guys.

It’s really cruddy that the United States doesn’t have a wide variety of Soap & Glory products 🙁 I do love some of your picks like the blush since it is absolutely gorgeous!
