I did a quick count last night and I currently have 6 different foundations and 4 BB creams in circulation. I haven’t even started trying out CC creams because, HELLO. These are the products that I’ve chosen to keep, which means that I enjoy using them – I’ve given away plenty of others that I didn’t enjoy using. But much to my surprise, I’ve finished a jar of Revlon Colorstay Whipped Foundation – I scraped the last drops out yesterday with my fingers like a savage.
The joke is that I generally don’t enjoy Revlon foundations that much. The whole Colorstay range is great for staying power, but I feel that it dehydrates my skin and I suspect that it eggs on my congestion-prone chin area even though it clearly states that it’s non-comedogenic.
Colorstay Whipped is a different beast though. On application, it feels more like you’re putting primer onto the skin than foundation. It’s an incredibly smooth cream formula that blends away with minimal effort, and in my opinion it’s the perfect your-skin-but-better foundation. While it provides decent medium coverage, it blends away and becomes completely invisible – I suppose it helps that the shade I had, Natural Beige 240, is neither yellow nor pink. If you have oily skin you’ll need a setting powder though, it’s not very mattifying.
The only drawback for me is the glass jar – aside from dunking my fingers in there, I’ve also dropped it and bits of glass broke off. Luckily only the outer part of the jar splintered and it didn’t interfere with the product.
