While first world countries take their online shops as a given, I’m still giddy every time I find a new site that sells decent cosmetics. I’ve rounded up some shops that sells cosmetics, in no particular order.
Woolworths sell their house cosmetic brands, as well as a bunch of big names like Smashbox, Stila, REN, Arden, Gatineau and MANY others. They also have a good selection of designer fragrances.
Truworths sells Stila and Kangol online, but only to account holders which I think is a little weird (but easy for the account holder doing the shopping)
Style 36 is a nice one. They stock some brands that aren’t otherwise readily available in SA – Erborian, Bourjois (which is no longer in Edgars), and then a couple of spa brands like Carita, Molton Brown and Sparitual. I don’t know for how long, but they currently have a big beauty sale on over 200 products. Have a look, even if it’s only for browsing.
Zando has a good range of fragrances especially, and more odd things like Elise eyelashes, Incoco nail wraps and Sleek makeup (which I always struggle to find).
Crabtree & Evelyn has their own online store, and they regularly have special offers.
Beauty Factory recently launched their online store, which is great for everyone outside Gauteng (since all the stores are here as far as I know).
Estee Lauder has their own, fairly new, online shop.
Faithful to Nature sells natural and organic cosmetics including brands like Badger, Jane Iredale, ZAO, Balm Balm and Inthusiasm.
And then I just heard about another big one today, but the info is embargoed so my lips are sealed for 11 more days 🙂
My brain is now fried, but do tell me which local sites (or even international sites that deliver to SA) I’m missing?
Also, Paula’s Choice.
And Everything Hair. The stock pro haircare brands like Babyliss, ghd, Moroccan Oil, Joico and Kerastase.
