For many women, Chanel lipstick are the ultimate. I happen to not have any ultimate lipstick – not a lipstick fan generally speaking, but if they’re the lip equivalent of Chanel eyeshadows I get it 100%.
If you, like me, are not a lipstick fundi, here’s a nice rundown of the different variants of Chanel lip colours to help you navigate your way through this collection (and their makeup counters).
Rouge Allure is an intense lipstick with a satin finish that provides optimal hold and intensity, while maintaining meltaway texture (it’s true, I’ve actually tried it).
Rouge Allure Velvet has the intensity of Rouge Allure, but with a matte finish. It’s not as fully matte (or as drying) as other matte lipsticks I’ve used before.
Rouge Coco is an easy wearing hydrating cream lipstick with a soft, creamy texture.
Rouge Coco Shine is a hydrating sheer lipstick with a balmy texture and a brilliant gloss-like shine.
Levres Scintillantes is a sparkling gloss.
Moving on to the collection. The Le Rouge Collection Variation has been divided into three categories (they’re calling it harmonies): Natural, Pink-red and Violet-plum. Each harmony has a couple of each of the above products as well as lip liners; and there’s one dark nail polish too.
These lippies are already available at Chanel counters.
