Lancome Juicy Shakers

By now you’ve probably already read about Lancome Juicy Shakers on a bunch of other blogs, but there’s a reason for my slacking – I’m a little undecided about them.

But let’s not get ahead of ourselves. For those who are not familiar, Juicy Shakers are fun and funky new lip products from Lancome that have just launched in stores. These bi-phase products’ packaging are modelled on cocktail shakers because you do indeed have to give them a good shake before applying them directly to your lips with a cushiony dome-shaped applicator.

While I would have wanted them to give more colour payoff (I’ve tried three shades and they’re all very sheer) and last longer on the lips, there is also a lot to like. Each colour has its own unique scent, for example, which is a really cool special touch. I also love how Juicy Shakers feel on your lips – the oil is immediately soothing and nourishing, and you won’t feel even a hint of stickiness.

As for the cushion applicator – I have a love/hate relationship with it. It feels a little cold and wet for my liking, but I also can.not.stop applying it. The oil settles on top of the pigment, so if you’re after a little more colour it’s a good idea to stand them upside down – that way some extra colour seeps into the applicator.

Would I recommend these? If you’re looking for a long lasting pop of colour – no. If you’re looking for a very comfortable product that will give you a beautiful sheen along with a hint of colour – yes.

Lancome Juicy Shakers are available at Lancome counters and online here for R270 each. There are a total of 20 shades available, of which we have 8 in South Africa.

I love the honest review. I also thought from the swatches that they look more sheer than I’d like…and especially for the price. I’m dying to get my hands on the peach one though, even if only for the scent, but it will probably be a splurge and I’d have to really talk myself into it 🙂

I’ve heard a lot about these and I’ve been waiting for the release here in the States. I just don’t think they’r pigmented enough for me, but we will just have to see. Thanks for the swatches by the way!
