So it’s 10h30, I’m watching PVRd shows and messing around on my ipad. I see a new email, want to instantly delete it then I see it’s Fashion Week-related but then I see it’s Minnie Mouse inspired Suzaan Heyns collection and I actually pause the show to read it.
Trendier people than myself might know this already, but at London Fashion Week 11 international designers created Minnie Mouse Must Haves, and now it’s Suzaan’s turn (I don’t know if there will be more SA designers). I haven’t seen the actual items but I hope to get hold of some pictures from the show at least, but an educated guess says there will be polka dots and bows. I think Suzaan Heyns is such an interesting/amazing choice. I admit to knowing very little about fashion design, but Suzaan’s work has fascinated me for a while now – her pieces are edgy but uber feminine, and there’s loads of texture. I’ve seen Suzaan in passing at a couple of events and she’s gorgeously grungy – so seeing her collaborate with Disney seems simultaneously odd and awesome.
Call me easy, but I’m impressed and I smiled like an idiot when I saw the images of Suzaan and Minnie below.
The Suzaan Heyns Inspired By Minnie range will be available from her store in Melrose Arch, but only around April 2014 as its an Autumn/Winter collection. Which, on second thought, is probably why there aren’t any pics of it out now. Either way, I’ll add some if they’ll let me.
POST UPDATED: Here are some images from the show. I’ll have to eat my words regarding the polka dots, but there are some bows at least. It’s more Haute Couture than I anticipated – just shows you what I know 🙂
