As with applying body lotion, I’m not too good with the hand creams. In summer I don’t like the heavy, sweaty feeling and the rest of the year I’m just not in the habit.
I’m set on changing this as I have real old lady hands already, so here are the best hand creams of the bunch. Most have some added benefits – because if I’m doing this, I want some additional perks.
Optiphi Anti Ageing Hand Therapy
Optiphi’s hand cream is very much a treatment product. It contains vitamins B and C, SPF20, and a couple of fancy pants ingredients to combat volume loss, improve elasticity and prevent as well as correct photo damage. It smells like good old cream – one of my favourite scents out there.
Crabtree & Evelyn Tarocco Orange Hand Cream
I’m a little obsessed with the Tarocco Orange range from Crabtree & Evelyn, and the hand cream is up there with the shower gel and body lotion. I won’t lie, it’s the scent that got me here. Together with orange; sage and eucalyptus makes for a deliciously citrusy scent that’s still creamy and warm.

Filorga Hand Filler
How clever is this? Filorga have come up with reusable gloves infused with a hand mask – one pair gives you 15 uses. You simply slap them on and continue going about your business. The gloves work on plumping, dark spots and also has a little something in there for nourishing your nails. It’s very bizarre – they just feel a little rubbery on the inside, but when you take them off it’s very clear that you’ve had a hand treatment.

Justine Honey Herbal Ageless Hands Night Serum
Initially nostalgia was my reason for liking this – I remember this scent from my school days, when I think I got a hand-me-down lotion from my mom. The texture is an absolute winner here though – it absorbs within less than a minute and leaves my hands feeling smooth, hydrated and non-greasy. I’m not 100% sure of the ingredients, but there’s a merry mix of hydrators, emollients and vitamins.
