Colourpop Cosmetics Haul + First Impressions

Well, well, well…

Thanks to Luzanne’s genius we managed to do a little haul from Colourpop Cosmetics (see their site here). We made use of Aramex Global Shopper, a freight forwarding company that allows you to have products shipped from loads of websites that wouldn’t otherwise ship internationally – there are detailed instructions on how that works + a discount code over here.

The Colourpop products have really good staying power, and they’re super affordable – eyeshadows start at $5 each. The textures are very unique – it’s a creamy gel-like consistency that quickly sets as a powder finish. Genius, I tell you.

As promised in the video, here is some feedback:

Those two eyeshadow shades really are very glittery – so much so that I had to go wash them off one one occasion as they wouldn’t have been suitable for a daytime meeting. It’s not a criticism of the product, I just didn’t choose my shades very well.

The eyeshadows as well as the cheek products apply equally well with brushes and fingertips. I would advise dabbing over the cheek products with a RT Miracle Sponge or Beauty Blender to smooth things out though. If I blend it too much – whether with a stipple of fluffy brush – I start shifting around my foundation.

The Lippie Stix wear for a good couple of hours, and I’m especially impressed with the matte shade Lumiere.

A friend and I have teamed up and ordered from Colourpop. We’re eagerly waiting for it to arrive. Hopefully we have slightly better luck than you with the eyeshadows – I made sure to order some matte eyeshadows just to balance it out a bit for daytime wear… Anyway, loved the video and the honest approach 🙂
