You may have picked up that I bought myself a Charlotte Rhys No 17 candle back in November that I completely fell in love with – I mentioned it along with a bunch of other smelly stuff over here. Aside from smelling and looking great it has a really good fragrance throw, and I regularly burn it in the evenings.
The Charlotte Rhys team was nice enough to send me the matching No 17 salt scrub (R105) and hand & body lotion (R123) last week and I’m super happy with them. From the get-go it’s clear that this local company’s aim is travel-friendly packaging – the containers are plastic, and the scrub is sealed in a plastic bag inside the tub so there’s no chance of a leak. I love the minimalist black & white packaging and I think they’re onto something – it would make a beautiful gift for any tourist to take back with them.
As for the actual products – they’re decent and affordable. The lotion is simultaneously light and nourishing, and the scrub has enough oils in it to leave your skin with a slight sheen. The No 17 scent is one of the best things I’ve smelt – it’s described as ‘fresh with woody depth’, and has a strong focus on various citrus notes layered over some white florals, woods and musk. I really like the idea of having a themed pamper session. If you really want to you can go all out and have shampoo, bath salts, EDT and even pillow spray in the same fragrance too – the range is extensive.
You can find Charlotte Rhys products online over here. I definitely want to try some more of their candles and diffusers – after some extensive browsing I think Bitter Orange, Green Leaves, Key Lime & Ginger and Under The Leaves are next on my list.
