LCN has gone from a brand that I paid very little attention to, to one that I’m excited to explore every season. Where they used to be mainly a nail brand, I’m now most often impressed with their makeup products. Here are the ones that stood out from their three latest collections.
While you can argue that it’s just another lip balm, the LCN Care Lipstick, R350 is just so much more sophisticated – it’s a pleasure to whip out the perfectly square tube, apply the deliciously buttery balm and then seal it with the most satisfying magnetic click known to (wo)man.
I usually just gloss over (ha) lip glosses, but when I swatched this collection I lost my heart on the LCN Lipgloss in Mermaid Love, R315. It’s a magnificently pigmented coral-red that’s perfect in every way.
Everyone needs a hand lotion in their handbag (although I’m often without one), and I see no reason why it can’t be a little bit special. LCN Juicy Watermelon Hand & Body Sorbet, R220 smells super summery and moisturises with a quick absorbing formula.
LCN’s 3-Phase Nail Oil, R225 comes in a nifty little rollerball that you can either put on your bedside table or chuck in your handbag. While I suspect the 3-phase colouring is a bit of a gimmick, it does contain both mineral and vegetable oils for short- and longterm hydration.
If you like a bit of shimmer (I can’t love a bit of shimmer any more myself), there are two nifty options. The first is LCN Ibiza Beach Goddess Bronzing Dry Oil, R760 which is, as you may have gathered, a dry body oil with an added bronze shimmer. It’s very subtle and it absorbs within a minute or so.
The second option is LCN Cover Me in Diamond Dust Highlighting Powder, R525. This would be more of a special occasion product for a night out as some of the particles are a little larger and more glittery, but it has a beautiful effect. The retro puff applicator adds an extra special touch.
Lastly I can’t stop sniffing the Apple Crumble Care Pen from the Christmas Deluxe collection. It does smell exactly like a freshly baked dessert, and it’s an incredibly nifty way to care for your cuticles without any fuss.
