Best of LCN Autumn/Winter 2016

A couple of weeks ago I received a giant box of LCN products and as is my duty I dove right in to seperate the mediocre from the magnificent. So without any further literary clichés, here are my favourite products from the two most recent collections – Lost in Luxury (Autumn) and Industrial Innocence (Winter).

If you like products that are a little gimmicky, you’ll probably love the Flirty Twist lipstick, R320. It has a beautiful marbled effect, and the colour itself is very pretty and wearable – on me it’s a slightly shimmery medium-toned pink. Just the kind of thing you’d want to whip out in front of your frenemy, I reckon.

There are three nail polishes from the Lost in Luxury collection that I adore – for very different reasons, as you’re about to see. The dark purple shade is Call me Starlet Deluxe, the ultra glam red is I’ll Do Anything For Red Velvet and the very pretty pale rose gold is My Crystal Dream. Nail polishes are R120 each.

LCN wow effect volume mascara

I’m very intrigued by the Extreme Wow Effect Volume Mascara, R285. So far I’m pretty impressed (aside from having smudged it on my nose numerous times), and I’ll upload a video/pic on either snapchat or instagram somewhere in the next week or two so you can see it in action. This mascara is now part of the permanent lineup.

I haven’t worn straight-up greys in a long time but I’m really happy with the Long Wear Eyeshadow set in Smokey, R525. Aside from being good quality, I’m a sucker for sleek packaging with minimalist clean lines like this one.

lcn eyebrow kit stencils

Lastly, I’m super fascinated with the Eyebrow kit, R660 (it’s part of the permanent lineup). While I felt that the eyebrow pencil colours were really off (it comes with two pencils, one is very grey and the other very warm), I think stencils like these can be a good way to learn how to fill your brows. The standard shapes might not be perfect for everyone, but at least you’ll have a good place to start – there are four shapes in the kit.

LCN products can be found at selected salons, or online here.
