Beauty Newness #12 – L’Oreal monos, MAC Viva Glam Rihanna, Sorbet Salon Pump and Kiss Lashes

Sorbet Nail Polish Remover with Salon Pump

Could nobody have thought to make this available to the public sooner? Seriously? Although in all honesty I’m not crazy about the removal abilities of this particular variant (it takes a bit of elbow grease), the concept is brilliant – you can even leave the cap open and all your nail polish remover won’t vanish into thin air. Previously I’ve had to buy pump bottles from wholesalers like Planet Nails, but now you can sommer just pop them in your trolley when you’re in Clicks. Nice.

R40 for 250ml, also available from Sorbet salons.

L’Oreal Color Riche L’Ombre Pure

I was really getting annoyed with reading great reviews of these everywhere and not being able to get hold of them locally. Fortunately that’s changing, and I’ll be testing these five shades this week. If they’re good I’ll slap up some swatches and a full review. Holding thumbs!

Kiss Ever Easy Lashes

I’m terrible at applying false lashes (the pressure!) but I was thrilled when I used the Kiss Ever Easy Lashes for a Halloween party a couple of weeks ago. They have easy place strings that allows you to get really close to the lash line, which makes everything so much, well, easier.

Because I could position them better I also kept them on for much longer – I usually rip falsies off by the middle of the night, much to the horror of everyone in my immediate vicinity.

Applying Kiss Ever Easy (or Ever EZ, depending on where you live) lashes for a Halloween party - apologies for the shoddy image quality, it was a very quick phone snap.

NOTE the regrowth that is making me look GRAY *shudders* (it’s mousy brown, I promise). I have since been to the salon, thankyouverymuch.

MAC Viva Glam Rihanna

My intial thoughts when I saw the new MAC Viva Glam Rihanna lipstick and lipgloss were WHY? I thought the colours were odd even for a brand like MAC that’s not afraid to make a statement, but I persevered and tried the gloss, which turned out to be really, really pretty (still not convinced about the lipstick though!). 100% of the proceeds of both the lipstick and gloss go to towards supporting people living with AIDS, so please do check it out if you’re in the market for a lippie.

I love the Sorbet pump bottles. I’ve used the green one and it removes polish fabulously.

I actually didn’t like the string lashes. I like the actual lashes, but the string just annoyed me. Haha.

At least nobody can accuse us of not having our own opinions

I picked up the Sorbet nail polish remover earlier this week and omg the pump is genious. I got the pink one which removes polish easily (yay acetone!)

Fab, think I’ll pick up an acetone version then – none of this wussy acetone-free stuff 😛
