Sorbet Nail Polish Remover with Salon Pump
Could nobody have thought to make this available to the public sooner? Seriously? Although in all honesty I’m not crazy about the removal abilities of this particular variant (it takes a bit of elbow grease), the concept is brilliant – you can even leave the cap open and all your nail polish remover won’t vanish into thin air. Previously I’ve had to buy pump bottles from wholesalers like Planet Nails, but now you can sommer just pop them in your trolley when you’re in Clicks. Nice.
R40 for 250ml, also available from Sorbet salons.
L’Oreal Color Riche L’Ombre Pure
I was really getting annoyed with reading great reviews of these everywhere and not being able to get hold of them locally. Fortunately that’s changing, and I’ll be testing these five shades this week. If they’re good I’ll slap up some swatches and a full review. Holding thumbs!
*R100 each I think, will confirm soon.
Kiss Ever Easy Lashes
I’m terrible at applying false lashes (the pressure!) but I was thrilled when I used the Kiss Ever Easy Lashes for a Halloween party a couple of weeks ago. They have easy place strings that allows you to get really close to the lash line, which makes everything so much, well, easier.
Because I could position them better I also kept them on for much longer – I usually rip falsies off by the middle of the night, much to the horror of everyone in my immediate vicinity.
R100, available from Clicks
MAC Viva Glam Rihanna
My intial thoughts when I saw the new MAC Viva Glam Rihanna lipstick and lipgloss were WHY? I thought the colours were odd even for a brand like MAC that’s not afraid to make a statement, but I persevered and tried the gloss, which turned out to be really, really pretty (still not convinced about the lipstick though!). 100% of the proceeds of both the lipstick and gloss go to towards supporting people living with AIDS, so please do check it out if you’re in the market for a lippie.
R185 (gloss) and R195 (lipstick) from MAC counters and online.
