It feels like it’s been a while since I’ve chatted through some beauty news and trust me, it’s not for lack of actual news. Let’s get cracking.
I have the MAC Vamplify gloss, R235, in the shade What’s Going On? and it’s the most impressively pigmented gloss I’ve used in ages. In fact, it’s firmly in the liquid lipstick territory if you ask me – the swatch you see below is one swipe. It lasts for a good few hours and leaves behind a slight stain. I see this shade as well as two others have sold out online, so better pop into your nearest MAC counter if you want to swatch a couple of shades.
Garnier seems to be on fire with regards to keeping up with new launches, and I was thrilled to receive word that that Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water and Garnier PureActive Micellar Cleansing Water will be in Clicks for R80 each from October -I have seen these around so it seems like they’ve made it into some stores earlier though.
I bought the regular version via the UK just over a year ago, and I’m happy to report it does a really decent job – I find most Micellar waters to do pretty much the same thing (I’m referring to the ‘regular’ version, I haven’t tried the PureActive as it’s not suitable for my skin), and this one doesn’t have to stand back for any of its high end counterparts.
Another great find from last week is the LA Girl Matte Flat Finish Pigment Gloss that is also in the running for the clumsiest name ever. Matte Flat Finish Gloss makes no sense to me, I would have just called this a matte liquid lipstick – which, by the way, it’s a very good version of.
Dreamy, the shade I have is VERY Kylie Jenner if you’re into that look. I’m hoping that if I go back to Dis-Chem this afternoon there will be a slightly more pink-nude but I’m not holding my breath – these LA Girl launches sell like hotcakes and the stand may very well be empty when I get there.
I’ve been working with Lancome on a #LoveYourAge campaign, don’t forget you can win one of two Advanced Genifique serums over here.
