If you have dry, uncomfortable skin, Filorga Nutri Filler Skin Restorer might just be the day cream you’ve been waiting for. It has a thick, balmy texture when you apply it, but it somehow isn’t thick or greasy once applied on the skin at all.
Among the active ingredients are Ursolic acid liposomes to restore the skin barrier and increase skin lipid production by increasing ceramide production, Shea butter to hydrate and nourish, Argan oil for its high antioxidant values and plant extracts to protect against collagen degeneration.
Filorga Nutri Filler Skin Restorer is available from Edgars and Red Square at R910.
Garnier have updated their Even & Matte range to a complete skincare line – there’s now a selection of two cleansers, a toner and three different moisturisers. They’re still making use of Lemon Essence to brighten skin and keep it matte throughout the day, and the moisturisers are targeted at all skin types from dry to oily. I love that they’ve done proper research on 450 black South African women to get the formulations just right for their specific skin needs in our climate instead of just repackaging an international formulation and hoping for the best.
The Garnier Even & Matte range is available from stores like Clicks, Dis-Chem and Foschini, and they’re very affordable – moisturisers come in at around R35.
GOSH Cosmetics is feeling Spring in a big way with pretty hues in comfortable, easy-to-wear textures. There are three Eyelight Eyeshadow Trios that each have a shimmer, glitter and a satin shade; 10 shades of Forever Lip Shine twist-up lip colour – they’re slimmer versions of chubby lip crayons so they work well as liner/lip colour hybrids; and Giant Blush sticks in three soft pink shades.
These new GOSH products are priced between R105 – R135 and are available from Edgars and Red Square.
I’m currently embracing everything fresh as I’m really enjoying the ‘inbetween’ spring weather – just watch me whine as soon as summer hits in full swing. Vaseline Aloe Fresh is up there with my fling with freshness – it feels super cool and invigorating.
A couple of weeks ago I got an 8PM phone call from one of my friends who sheepishly fessed up that he had sunburn and was staring at the supermarket shelves. I ended up recommending this as it was the only product that sounded soothing enough, and after applying a thick layer (like a face mask) he reported back that there was substantial relief.
From R20, available at supermarkets.
